2021 Del Single –
Gratuity & leave encashment to teachers - Despite 18 adjournments, Gratuity
Authority (constituted under the Payment and Gratuity Act, 1972) failed to decide the issue of gratuity – Delhi
High Court directed the Deputy Labour Commissioner, District North-West, GNCT
of Delhi, to decide the claim petition of the petitioner/teacher within four
weeks as an outer limit – And also directed the Director of Education, GNCT of
Delhi, to treat the writ petition as a representation for payment of leave
encashment and decide the same by taking the comments from the school within
eight weeks.
